Standard Licensing Agreement

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all original music created by Nomad Sounds and its composers is provided under an Exclusive, Perpetual, Worldwide License.

This license is intended for the vast majority of film, television, video game, advertising, and commercial media projects.

Rights Granted

The Client receives an exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to use the music solely in connection with the licensed project.

This license grants the Client the right to:

  1. Synchronize, reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, and display the music as part of the licensed project in any territory worldwide, in perpetuity.

  2. Use the music in promotional materials related to the licensed project, including trailers, advertisements, social media content, press materials, live events, and other marketing activities.

  3. Exclusively associate the music with the licensed project. Nomad Sounds and the composer will not license the same music for use in any unrelated project, production, or client engagement.

Rights Reserved

All copyrights, publishing rights, and underlying ownership of the musical composition and master recording remain the property of the composer and/or rights holder unless otherwise specified in a separate written agreement.

The Client may not:

  1. Sell, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise make the music available for use in other projects, productions, products, music libraries, sample libraries, or stock music catalogs.

  2. Use the music in any project other than the licensed project, including sequels, spin-offs, remasters, expansions, adaptations, derivative works, or future installments, without obtaining additional written authorization from the composer.

  3. Claim authorship of the music.

  4. Collect, redirect, or otherwise claim composer royalties, writer's share royalties, or equivalent composer compensation in any territory where such royalties are administered by a performing rights organization or similar collection society.

Transfer of Intellectual Property Ownership

If ownership of the licensed project, franchise, brand, or associated intellectual property is sold, transferred, assigned, merged, acquired, or otherwise changes ownership, this license shall automatically transfer with the intellectual property.

The new owner shall enjoy the same rights and obligations granted under this license with respect to the licensed project.

Co-Written Works

In cases where music is co-written with a lyricist, songwriter, or other contributor, additional agreements may be required.

Unless otherwise specified, this Standard Licensing Agreement applies only to the rights controlled by the composer represented by Nomad Sounds.

Lyrics, literary content, and any other separately owned intellectual property may be subject to separate ownership arrangements and licensing requirements.

Work for Hire

Clients requiring any of the following should inquire about Work for Hire pricing:

  • Full transfer of copyright ownership

  • The right to use the music in multiple projects

  • The right to sublicense or resell the music

  • Ownership of publishing rights

  • Ownership of composer royalties or writer's share royalties

  • Any rights not expressly granted under this Standard Licensing Agreement

Entire Agreement

Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by the composer and/or rights holder.

Specific project agreements may modify or supersede portions of this Standard Licensing Agreement where expressly stated in writing.
